

John was born December 6, 1939 to Lloyd and Goldie Horn in Jefferson City where he lived until 1976. John was employed by Rackers Construction and later at the University of Missouri. John was best known for his love of telling jokes and his wonderful sense of humor.
John is survived by Sue, his loving wife of 35 years, his five children: Samuel (Kathy) Horn of Columbia, Travis (Michelle) Horn of PA; John (Candy) Horn, Lisa Daniels and Michael (Amanda) Russell, all from Jefferson City; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepchildren: Deanna (Hootie) Stone of Harrisburg; Kent Branson of Columbia and James Branson of FL, and sister Martha Foster of St. Louis. John was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donnie and Junior.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 and Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 with Memorial services immediately following at Memorial Funeral Home, followed by John’s wish for cremation.
The family is thankful for the wonderful care given to John during his numerous visits over the last three years by the doctors and nurses at University of Missouri Medical Center and at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center; to the volunteer firefighters at Station #9 who assisted Sue many times in getting John in and out of his handicapped van since 2012 when he was paralyzed; to their wonderful neighbors and friends, and to their loving best friend, Joyce Wesseldine.
