Joseph Augustine, 85, of Columbia, MO, passed away Saturday, April 4th, 2026, in Columbia. Friends and family may gather Thursday, April 9 from 5-7pm at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO. Funeral Mass will be 10am, Friday, April 10th at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 903 Bernadette drive Columbia, MO. Cremation will follow the mass.
Joseph was born in Kadaplamattom, Kerala, India on August 5th, 1940. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and received a Chemistry degree from in India then continued at St. Louis University. He married Marykutty on January 14th, 1971. Joseph worked as a Medical Technologist for Incarnate Word Hospital. He was a member of Malayalee Association of St. Louis and the India Association of St. Louis and had a passion for talking with people about reading, history, and politics/current events.
He is survived by his wife, Marykutty; sons, Suresh (Sonia) Augustine and Sathish (Emily) Augustine; grandchildren, Divya, Alisha, Aidan, Lucas, and Owen Augustine; 12 siblings and over 100 members in his extended family located around the world.
