With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judith Ann Brown, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Judy departed this life at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, boundless love, and quiet strength that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on September 19, 1945, in Columbia, Missouri, Judy was the cherished daughter of the late Hosie Edward Roberts Sr. and Edna Geraldine Batye Roberts, and stepdaughter of the late Otto Taggart. She was raised with strong values that she carried into every corner of her life — a life defined by love, resilience, and generosity.
On July 5, 1961, she married the love of her life, William Oscar Brown, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in devotion and mutual respect. Together, they built a beautiful family and a home filled with faith, laughter, and the comforting rhythm of crochet hooks — Judy’s favorite pastime. Her hands were rarely still, always crafting something special to bless someone else. Her homemade gifts, stitched with love, now serve as lasting symbols of her care and creativity.
Judy’s greatest joy came from her family. She poured her heart into raising her three sons: William Brown of Macon, MO, Kevin Brown of Higbee, MO, and Preston Brown of the home. Her face lit up at the sight of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who knew her as a source of unconditional love and gentle wisdom. Her faith in God was her compass, her strength in times of sorrow, and her source of peace in every season.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather Otto Taggart; her brothers Hosie Edward Roberts Jr. and Dean Roberts; and her precious son, Preston Brown, whom she now holds again in her arms.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband, William; her sons William and Kevin (Toni); her siblings Pam Nichols, Tommy Taggart and Cathy Jose; grandchildren, Krista (Jeremy) Baney, Kyle (Lacey) Brown, Trevor (Linnsi) Brown, Whitley, Zachary and Dustin Brown; great-grandchildren, Jensen & Reese Baney, Preston & Charlotte Brown, Kinsley Brown, and Gracelynn Brown; and a wide circle of extended family members, and friends who were like family.
A Celebration of Life will be, Saturday, May 10th at Park Lane Community Church located at 11700 N Route B Hallsville, Missouri from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, where loved ones will gather to honor Judy's remarkable life — a life lived with purpose, filled with love, and marked by faith. Though she has left this world, her light will never fade. Her legacy lives on in every warm memory, every handmade gift, and every heart she touched. The family will gather for a private urn burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
“Her hands were busy, her heart was full, her love was endless.”
