A 1957 graduate of Peculiar High School, Judy pursued higher education at UMKC before earning her master’s degree from San Jose State University in California. She passionately dedicated herself to teaching, enriching the lives of many students through her Honors English classes.
Judy married Arthur Strametz, with whom she shared four beloved children: Michael, Marc, Dane, and Stephanie. Later, she married Dr. Mathew Kayson, and together they embarked on an adventurous chapter, transitioning to a military life that brought the family unforgettable experiences in Germany, Russia, Egypt, Turkey and other European countries. Judy's zest for adventure and discovery became an enduring hallmark of her personality.
In 1987, the family settled in Sedalia, Missouri, where Judy embraced her love for horses and dogs and showcased her entrepreneurial spirit through various business ventures. After Mathew's passing, Judy moved to Columbia in 2007. There, she met and later married Dave Argue on March 6, 2010. Judy and Dave shared the next wonderful years exploring the world together, frequently traveling to Europe and Mexico, enjoying cruises, and cherishing time spent with their many friends.
Judy is lovingly remembered by her husband, Dave Argue, of Columbia; her children: J. Michael (Kathy) Kayson of Columbia, Marc Kayson (Gretchen Reinders) of La Crosse, WI, Dane Kayson (Sara Revere) of Cape Coral, FL, and Stephanie (Jesse) Windsor of St. Louis; Dave’s daughters, Kathy Corley, Joanne (Glenn) Frers, and Amy (Mark) Elliott, all of Columbia; as well as eleven grandchildren: Aspen, Madison, Aden, Keali, Bennet, Noah, Oliver, Elsa, Merrik, Dave’s granddaughters: Sarah & Laura, and two great-grandchildren: Timmy & Lydia, as well as numerous beloved pets.
