Mark was born and raised in the St. Louis area, where he attended school and graduated from McBride High School in 1971. From an early age, Mark embraced life with curiosity, loyalty, and an intense love for music. A devoted Grateful Dead fan, he followed the band throughout the Midwest in his younger years, finding joy, community, and meaning in the music that stayed with him throughout his life. His love of music led him to a passion for vintage rock and roll art.
On October 8, 1983, Mark married Gabrielle Henke in St. Louis. Together they built a life rooted in love, dedication, and family, and were blessed with four children: Nicholas, Rachel, Nathan, and Emily. Mark was a devoted husband and a proud, loving father whose steady presence and guidance shaped the lives of his children.
Mark dedicated more than 40 years of service to Abbott Ambulance, where his leadership, compassion, and commitment left a lasting impact on colleagues and the communities he served. Rising through the ranks, he concluded his career as Chief Operating Officer for the region. Mark was also one of the founders of the IHM Paramedic School, which proudly continues today as IHM Academy - an enduring legacy of his passion for education and emergency medical services.
Mark is survived by his wife, Gabrielle Corley; his children, Nicholas Corley of St. Louis, Missouri; Nathan Corley (Anne) of Columbia, Missouri; and Emily Corley of St. Louis, Missouri; and his cherished grandchildren, Maxwell Herriman, Isla Corley, and Edith Corley, who brought him immense joy and pride.
He is also survived by his sisters, Ann Fox (Bill), Joyce Corley, Adrienne Johnson (Larry), and Corinne Corley; his brothers, Kevin Corley (Melissa), and Frank Corley (Teresa); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Rachel Corley; and his brother, Stephen Corley.
