Robert Keith Little, born on December 16th 1957, passed away peacefully in his home on January 28th, 2021. He was a loving husband, father, and quintessential family man. He spent thirty-two years married to the love of his life Carol, with whom he had two boys Christopher and Daniel.
Robert grew up the son of two hard-working parents, Ramon and Margaret Little, in Grand Island and Hastings, Nebraska. He was the youngest of four siblings. Robert graduated from Hastings High School and went on to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he began his love-hate relationship with Nebraska football. He then moved on to University of Nebraska Medical Center where he got his Doctorate of Medicine, eventually serving his residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital. It was there that he met Carol Renee Wilson, who would go on to be his wife.
Dr. Bob, as he was known, worked as an Anesthesiologist for North Hospital in Kansas City and then for Boone Hospital in Columbia. He loved his job, always keeping the well-being of his patients at the heart of his work. Robert worked hard and long hours to provide a good life for his family, whom he loved deeply.
Robert was a lover of the outdoors, especially biking the MKT Trail, fishing the oceans, and evening walks. He enjoyed gardening and experimenting with new outdoor projects. He loved the beaches of Sanibel and the mountains of Colorado, experiences that he shared with his family at every opportunity. Robert loved golfing with his son, Daniel. Robert learned to play the piano and the trumpet at a young age and carried his love of music with him throughout his life. He truly enjoyed life and filled his family with laughter and joy. His family will not forget the dedication and care Robert gave to us, and we will always miss his goofy jokes and kind nature.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Margaret. He is survived by his wife Carol, sons Christopher (Lindsey) and Daniel, siblings David (Marje), Kathy (Don), Janet (Terry), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who became family.
A private service will be held on Thursday, February 4th 2021 at 4:00 pm at The Crossing Church. Due to the nature of the times, the service will be live streamed on the Memorial Funeral Home Facebook page.
If you would like to send flowers for Robert’s service, the address is 3615 Southland Drive Columbia, Missouri 65201. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to True North of Columbia, a local shelter for victims of domestic abuse.
