Robert W Meyer

Bob Meyer, 69, of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Visitation will be 10-11am, Thursday, January 11th at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia. Funeral Service will begin at 11am, followed by burial with Military Honors in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bob was born September 4, 1954 in St. Louis, MO to William Raymond and Norma Lucille Brenton Meyer. He graduated High School in 1972. Shortly after graduating he joined the US Air Force and served for three years before earning his Honorable Discharge. While in the Air Force, he was trained in electronics and he carried that training with him to several careers. He also continued to tinker with electronics even after his failing health kept him home more often.

He is survived by his brother, Alan Meyer of Columbia; a step-son, Ross Townlain; nieces, Melissa (Parker) Fadler of Hartsburg, and Kristina (Derek) Lefholz of Lee’s Summit, five great nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Meyer (Townlain), and a step-son, Jon Townlain. Bob’s family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Visiting Angels for the care and company they shared with Bob.
