

Sedrick LaVelle Lewis, Jr., 21, of Columbia passed away Tuesday, June 4th 2024. Friends may gather from 10am-12pm, Thursday, June 13th at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia. Funeral services will begin at 12pm followed by burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sedrick was born, August 18, 2002 in Columbia to Jennifer and Sedrick Lewis, Sr. He attended Battle High School and completed his education through Job Point in Columbia. He completed Youth Build with is HiSET, construction certificates, flagger certification, OSHA10, National Construction Education & Research, COR/First Aid and then moved on to Job Point’s Highway and Heavy Construction and gained his CDL. He earned an Award of Excellence from Job Point and was featured on their website. Sedrick was employed by Emery Sapp and Sons and was just recently promoted to Diamond Operator, 3.
He was very skilled mechanically and was a hands on learner when it came to anything mechanical. He had a great interest in politics and enjoyed listening to political radio. Sedrick was known for being a caring person and helping people through their personal struggles.
He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Lewis of Columbia; his son, Legend Cole Brumbaugh, his siblings, Alayna Lee of Boyd, TX and Jacobi Shepherd of Columbia; maternal grandparents, Cindy and Jesse Thorp of Hartsburg; his paternal grandparents, Ronald Lewis of Marshall, and Rona Lewis of Jefferson City; and his aunts, Janette Berry, Tammy Whitfield, Katrina Lewis, Loretta Lewis, uncles, Rondle Lewis and Ronell Lewis. He was preceded in death by his father, Sedrick LaVelle Lewis, Sr.
