She was born July 4, 1954, in Columbia, to Richard and Patsy Barnes Hampton and was a 1972 graduate of Hickman High School. She married shortly after high school and had a son, Chase. She was a stay-at-home mom for several years before taking on small jobs. She found a career with Columbia Insurance where she worked for 20 years, retiring in 2020. She enjoyed listening to the Blues and going to shows at the Roots-n-Blues Festival. She also enjoyed Art in the Park. Most of all, she was the best grandma ever; she loved to spend time with her granddaughters and watch them play sports.
Sheryl is survived by her son, Chase (Janelle) Greening of Columbia; granddaughters, Payton and Presley of Columbia; a brother, Richard Hampton of Columbia; her mother, Patsy Hampton of Columbia; and a nephew, Caleb (Aimee) Hampton and their son Hank. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lori McBride, and her father, Richard.
