

Louis Stephen Wesselman, often referred to as Steve, died peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on January 25, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Steve was born on June 25, 1951, in Booneville, MO to John A. Wesselman and Alfreda A. Wesselman.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Steve was adored by his children and grandchildren and was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Steve never met a stranger and could talk a person's ear off and loved a good debate. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Steve enjoyed golf, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman.
Steve was well known in the car business for over 35 years around the Columbia area.
Steve is survived by his wife and soulmate, Laura Wesselman of Centralia, MO; his four children, Kari Adams (Bob), Wendy Williams (James), Robert Cochran (Amber Kay), Jamie Cochran (Tim Watring); thirteen grandchildren, Andrew Williams (Ilean Calvert), Lauran Williams, Jordan Cook (Josh), Erika, Allie, and Jaydin Cochran, Lizzie, Lillie, and Sophia Watring, Avery, Alexis, and Autumn Adams; three great grandchildren, Alex and Charis Cook and River Forbis. Steve was one of ten siblings and is survived by two siblings, a sister, Betty Gerke (Herman) of Boonville, and brother, Bobby Wesselman (Brenda) of Oklahoma and sister in law Kathy Davis of Kansas; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John and Alfreda Wesselman; Steve was preceded in death by his siblings, Rosemary (John) Lakey, James (Beverly) Davis, Virgil (Ree) Davis, Roger Davis, Martin (Mary) Wesselman, Eddie (Jeanie) Wesselman, Norbert (Eva) Wesselman.
Steve will be greatly missed for his zest for life.
