Mrs. Bryan was born and grew up in Mason, Texas, the youngest of three daughters of drugstore owner Charles S. Vedder and his wife Virgil S. Vedder. She graduated with a B.A. from Baylor University and taught third grade in Mason for about three years. After she married William C. Bryan, his Air Force career moved them to numerous places in Texas, New Mexico, and even Brussels, Belgium. After he retired, they lived for over thirty years in Boulder, Colorado, before settling in Columbia in 1999. William went to be with the Lord Jesus ten years before she did. Now they can rejoice together. They are survived by a son, David Bryan and his wife JoAnn Bryan, of Columbia, and a daughter, Sarah Orth and her husband David Orth, of Marengo, Illinois, and five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, scattered across Missouri, Illinois, and Texas.
