Agnes Bahm, of Carson, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the age of 93. She was born in Jefferson Davis County to Joel and Olive Dyess. After graduation from high school, Agnes moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to attend business college. It was in Baton Rouge that she met Austin Bahm, whom she married in 1955. Agnes worked for Percy Insurance Agency her entire career until she retired and moved back to Carson in 1995. She loved traveling and working in her flower garden. Agnes had a big heart, a great personality, and never said an unkind word about anyone. She was “one of a kind” and will be remembered for her humility.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Ida Mae Reid, Amelia Traylor, Bernice “Tiny” Raynes, and Lula B. Raynes; two brothers, Tom Dyess and Joe Stanley Dyess. Agnes is survived by a sister, Phenie Stogner and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service, officiated by Brother Eddie Hartfield, will be at Greens Creek Baptist Church on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 2:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery assisted by Randolph Raynes, Alvin Raynes, Jake Raynes, Mark Raynes, Greg McRaney, and Brian McRaney serving as pallbearers. Dent Michael will be an honorary pallbearer.
