Allen "Goob" Powell

Allen “Goob” Powell, age 56 passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Columbia and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Allen loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his mother whom he adored.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his son, Kaleb Powell; his father, Fred Powell; and brothers, Mitchell Powell, and Randy Cornwall.

He is survived by his daughters, Lakken Powell, and Baylee Goar; son, Mitchell Powell; his mother, Carol Powell; a sister, Angel Gibson (Jermy); brothers, Scott Powell (Theresa), Joey Powell (Jess), and Farrell Powell (Jessie); and several grandchildren and extended family members.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. Reverend Mike Aultman will officiate and burial will follow at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Jermy Gibson, Zachary Gibson, Jr. Broom, David Smith, T.J. Polk and Ray Parks serving as pallbearers.
