Betty Olivia Reagan Monroe, age 70 passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 in Newnan, GA. A longtime resident of Foxworth, MS, she was an educator and taught business at West Marion Academy and later was an administrative assistant at Columbia Primary School where she retired. Betty was a member of East Columbia Baptist Church and was active with the Christian Motorcycle Association.
Mrs. Monroe was preceded in death by her husband, George Mikell Monroe; parents, Theodore Reagan and Iva Ellen Herring Reagan. She is survived by her son, Mikell Scott Monroe and wife, Susanna of Newnan, GA; a sister, Theodora “Dodie” Singley and husband, Virgil of Columbia, MS; two grandchildren, Alex Monroe, and Ava Monroe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 18, 2020 in the funeral home chapel. Reverend Tommy Broome will preside over services and interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
