Bonnie Jean Pittman, age 90 passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at The Grove in Columbia, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Foxworth, MS where she lived in the New Hope community and was primarily a homemaker.
Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Berlin Pittman; parents, Harry Slocum, Sr. and Fleeda Pittman Slocum; a sister, Edwina Slocum; and brother, Harry Slocum, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Jean Magee and her husband, Sherrell Magee, and Beverly Ann Kroner and her husband, Mark Kroner, all of Foxworth; four grandchildren, Kristie Smith, Brandie Magee, Mark Kroner, II, and Tiffany Verucchi; and six great-grandchildren, Chase Clark, Anna Claire Rowell, Dillon Smith, Sydney Rowell, Hayden Verucchi, II, and Hannah Verucchi.
Bonnie was a lifelong member and served faithfully at New Hope Baptist Church of Foxworth where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was well known for her compassion for people and was a friend to all she met.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pittman will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church of Foxworth where family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Dr. Hiram Campbell will preside over services and Rev. Evan Sheridan will have committal prayers at Lott Cemetery where Bonnie will be laid to rest.
