Brenda Calhoun May, of Columbia, Mississippi, went home to join her husband on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. She was a lifelong resident of Columbia and a member of East Columbia Baptist Church where she actively served her Lord and her community. Brenda enjoyed gardening and playing hand bells at church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was devoted to her family. Brenda will be remembered for her devotion to God and her kindness to other people.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Darlene Calhoun; and her husband, Joe E. May. Brenda is survived by a daughter, Darlene Butler and her husband, Cleveland; a son, Jonathan May; a brother, Jack Calhoun; three grandchildren, Dane May, Dallas Butler, and Annabelle Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation for Brenda will be at Colonial Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Saturday, November 13, 2021. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
