Coby Gerrick Rowley, age 22, of Purvis, MS passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He graduated with honors from West Marion High School and received his Associate Degree of Nursing at Pearl River Community College. He was passionate in his career as a registered nurse working both at Marion General Hospital and Forrest General Hospital where he excelled in caring for patients.
Outside of his professional career, Coby enjoyed many pleasures in life including his love for fast cars, especially the Ford Mustang. He enjoyed the game of Chess and reading books to broaden his intelligence. He was a perfectionist and known for solving the Rubik’s cube in record time. Everyone loved to be around Coby as he was a jokester and delighted in laughter. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends alike.
Coby was preceded in death by his grandmother, Brenda Madison; great-grandfathers, Shelton Raybourn, and Glen Thornhill; and uncle, Ryan Bourgoyne.
He is survived by his father, James Rowley (Crystal); his mother, Cheresa Bourgoyne; brothers, Tyler Rowley (Miranda), and Jackson Rowley; his fiance', Ashlyn Taylor and unborn son, Carter Jace Rowley; maternal grandparents, Charles and Susan Bourgoyne; paternal grandfather, Gary Rowley; grandparents, Wiley and Cyndy Miller, and great-grandmothers, Kay Thornhill, Margaret Raybourn, Carolyn Armstrong, and Dutha Lee Maklary.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, MS, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Reverend Randall Buchanan will officiate and burial will follow in Richland Creek Cemetery assisted by Steven Powell, Kandon Beasley, Drew Reagan, Tyler Taylor, Ray Simpson and Trevor Stuart serving as pallbearers.
