E. A. "Porky" Breeland

E. A. “Porky” Breeland, of Bassfield, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born in Hammond, Louisiana to Preston and Ernestine and has been a resident of Marion County since 1980. Porky loved a good prank and was known for his great sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Breeland. Porky is survived by his daughter, Bridgett Summers (Dwayne); his mother, Ernestine Breeland Westmoreland; a sister, Cynthia Breeland; three brothers, Neal Breeland (Jane), Brent Breeland (Michell), and Warren Breeland (Sherry); four grandchildren, Aidan Summers, Taitum Summers, Jaxon Summers, and Finley Summers; his best friend, Gena Miles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation for Porky at Colonial Funeral Home on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Darel Daniels, will be in the funeral home chapel on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 10:00am. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Neal Breeland, Jr., Chris Breeland, Dustin Breeland, Glenn Patterson, Stevie Bell, and Ashley Gatwood serving as pallbearers. Dwayne Summers, Preston Breeland, Kenny Bell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
