Hallie Jeane Willoughby, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the age of 92. She was born in Columbia to Mikell and Annie Dale Williamson where she has remained a lifelong resident. Ms. Jeane was a first grade teacher and Principal for 32 years at Columbia Primary School. She served her community and her Lord through her membership with East Columbia Baptist Church where she was a pianist and organist for many years. Ms. Jeane was dedicated to Bible Drill and Operation Christmas Child and will be remembered as a faithful servant of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five siblings, Dale Williamson, Trugen Reindorp, Victor Williamson, Nellie Sue Monroe, and Ruby Williams; several nephews; and her beloved husband, John Alvin Willoughby. Ms. Jeane is survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
There will be a visitation at Colonial Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Mark McArthur and Reverend James Bell, will be in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am on Thursday, November 10, 2022. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery assisted by Jerry Broom, Danny Alexander, Geoffrey McMichael, Marty Breland, Charlie Alexander, and Tim Wascomb serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John McElroy, Frank Tolar, Ronnie Shivers, Joe Beets, and Virgil Singley.
