Boot’s life was marked by steady work, openhanded generosity, and kindness that made others feel seen and valued. A hard-working man in every sense, he built his days with purpose and care, and those who knew him best will remember how faithfully he showed up for the people he loved and the responsibilities he carried.
He was a poultry farmer, and he approached his work with the same diligence and dependability that shaped the rest of his life. Whether in the routines of the farm or the rhythms of home, Boot was cherished for the way he gave of himself.
Boot loved his family, and he took a sincere interest in the interests of his children and grandchildren, offering encouragement and attention that made each one feel important. He will be remembered as a great father, grandfather, brother, and friend—someone whose presence brought steadiness, warmth, and a sense of being cared for.
Boot also enjoyed attending Pine Grove United Pentecostal Church and deeply loved his church family, finding comfort and fellowship among those he worshiped with.
Boot was preceded in death by his wife, Tamay Price Dunaway; his parents, Watts Dunaway and Lavern Carney Dunaway; a brother, Benny Larue Dunaway; father-in-law, Ralph Price and mother-in-law, Meryl Price; and a brother-in-law, Robert Wayne Robertson.
He is survived by his son, Colton Dunaway; his daughters, Mandi Turner and Angela Chitwood (Kenneth); a brother, Vernon Dunaway (Linda); sisters, Reta Sandifer (Eddie) and Nona Robertson; his brother-in-law, Everette Price (Wanda); five grandchildren, Brandon Main (April), Whitney Allen, Dakota Parker (Jayme), Blace Hamilton, and Carley Carter (Alex); seven great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family.
