

Jack David Brown, of Columbia, Mississippi, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the age of 78. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Jack was a lifelong resident of Columbia who retired from Stringer's Oilfield Service, Inc. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 90 in Columbia where he served as the past Commander. Jack served his Lord and his community through his membership with Morgantown Church of God. Jack will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his love and devotion to his family. He was the grandchildren's greatest supporter and never missed any of their events.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Jack Brown; his mother and step-father, Connie and Shelby May. Jack is survived by his wife of 48 years, Robin Brown; two daughters, Alicia Brown and Holli Buckley (John Michael); a son, David Brown; two brothers, Danny May (Sherry) and Jerry Brown (Bobbie); five grandchildren, Matthew Brown, Ayden Buckley, Abel Buckley, Jace Brown, and Stella Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation for Jack at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. The funeral service to celebrate his life will follow at 3:30pm at the graveside in the Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Reverend Nick Neese and Reverend Cory Odom will officiate the service. Matt Taylor, Glen Patterson, John Michael Buckley, Ayden Buckley, Kenny Hobgood and Lamar Hobgood will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that donations be made in Jack's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
