Jerry Dale Pittman, lifelong resident of Foxworth, MS passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at his home. He was 78 years old and the son of the late T.H. “Tobe” Pittman. Jerry acquired his dad’s timber business in 1975 and retired in 2024. He was proud of and loved his family unconditionally and revered his friends dearly. Outside of business, Jerry’s hobbies included hunting and fishing. He enjoyed boiling crawfish and teaching his children his boiling skills over the years. Jerry was a generous man and would help anyone in need, often cooking turkeys to give family and friends for the holidays. His heart was big and new no limits when giving. He was a devoted Christian and supported his church and pastor, Jerry Terrell and wife, Ruth. Most of all, Jerry loved and trusted Jesus in every aspect of life.
Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Cheryl Pittman; daughter, Lachel Dement; son, Arnold Pittman; parents, Toxie T.H. Pittman and Macle Pittman; sisters, Edwina McNabb, Pauline Lott, Evie Lee Robbins, Monette Massengale, and Lanelle Stampley; and brothers, Barney Pittman, William Pittman, and Doyle Pittman.
Jerry is survived by his son, Kendall Pittman (Karesa); son-in-law, Kerry Dement; a sister, Sarah Ann Bridwell; four grandchildren, Jeron Dement (Miranda), Blake Dement (Leah), Kaylee Rockco (Jason), and Chanley Pittman; and nine great-grandchildren, Bryleigh Dement, Brelyn Dement, Kaston Dement, Emma Pittman, Kyle Ginn, Evan Rockco, Eli Rockco, Jathan Rockco, and Jaselyn Rockco.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Dexter Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be conducted at the church on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Jerry Terrell and Reverend Mike Dykes will officiate and burial will follow at Lott Memorial Cemetery assisted by Kerry Dement, Jeron Dement, Blake Dement, Chanley Pittman, Jason Rockco, and Jathan Rockco serving as pallbearers.
