Joe Speights

David Joseph “Joe” Speights, age 72 passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Collins State Veterans Home in Collins, MS. A native and longtime resident of Columbia, MS, Joe was an appliance repairman, a Vietnam veteran serving in the US Army and a Baptist. He was also a lifelong member of the VFW local posts.

Mr. Speights was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Speights; his mother, Faye Duncan Speights; sister, Gayle Divine; and brother, Jerry Speights. He is survived by his brothers, Mark Speights, and Alfred Melcher; and numerous extended family members.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, MS. For memorial donations, friends and family may consider: VFW Post 3036, 210 Ronie St. Hattiesburg, MS 39401.
