Juanita Wagley White died on February 19, 2022. She was 91 years old. She was born on December 29, 1930, as the tenth child of the late M. C. and Elizabeth Burt Wagley of Goss, Mississippi. She had six brothers, Burt Elijah Wagley, Fred C. Wagley, Earl J. Wagley, Flanders Wagley, Lemon Howard Wagley, Thomas Orbin Wagley, and three sisters, Carmen Willoughby, Alice Ivy, Betty Lou Forbes, who all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son Charles Wayne White.
Nita graduated from Columbia High School in 1948, and in 1950, she met and married Hugh L. White. They were married for 71 years. They had three sons, Charles Wayne White, Robert H. White and Ronald Munell White.
Nita was a homemaker, and mother. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Columbia, and taught at First Baptist Church Kindergarten from 1968 to 1974. She was a member of the Golden Acres Garden Club, Beta Sigma Phi, and The Petroleum Wives Club of Norway. While living in Norway she traveled extensively throughout Europe.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh L. White; sons, Robert White (Paula), and Ron White (Vicki); grandchildren, Jennifer White Warren (Nate), Erik White (Jen), Leigh Anne Shepard (JC), and Robb Harvey (Nikki); great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Nick, and Hannah Warren, Kynzi White, and Keaton Sheppard, Shep and Sawyer Jane Shepard, and Hank and Hayden Harvey.
There will be a visitation for Mrs. White at Colonial Funeral Home from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Bryant Barnes and Reverend Davis Rogers, will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:30 pm with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery assisted by Rodney Robertson, Rudolf Williamson, Gerald Creel, Dwayne Stuckey, Jimmy Anderson, Billy Sanson, Dan Speights and David White serving as pallbearers.
