Katherine Maxwell Kendrick

Katherine Maxwell Kendrick, age 94 of Columbia, MS passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. She retired from The Myrtles Nursing Center in Columbia where she enjoyed her career as a dietician. Katherine enjoyed simple things in life including flowers, country music, and spending quality time over the years with her family she loved very much. She was a woman of strong faith and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for more than 60 years, serving faithfully on various committees.

Mrs. Kendrick was preceded in death by her husband, Vennis Kendrick; a son, Dwight Maxwell Kendrick; daughters, Kathi Stinnett, and Nelia Batson; parents, Vester Maxwell and Etta Grimsley Maxwell; and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra Thornhill (Vance), and Shelia Sumrall Thornhill; her son, Dwain Kendrick; eleven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Columbia followed funeral services at 11:00 AM. Reverend David McNeil will officiate and burial will follow at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery.
