Linda Patterson, age 79 of Sumrall, MS, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at the Myrtles Nursing Center in Columbia, MS. She was a greeter with Walmart when she retired and then became a homemaker. Linda loved her family dearly and was especially fond of her dog, Toby. She enjoyed life and appreciated flowers always smiling to the beauty of roses which was her favorite. Linda was a woman of faith and a member of Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She is now rejoicing with her Savior in Heaven.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Neale Patterson; parents, C.H. Broom and Emily Farlow Broom; sisters Winona Kilpatrick, Ouida Anderson, Rosa Bond, and Willene Summers; and brothers, Harvey Broom, Columbus "Brother" Broom, and Zebedee Broom.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammie Herrin (Ricky) of Bassfield, MS; sons, Greg Patterson (Kim) of Sumrall, Timm Patterson (Pat) of Biloxi, MS, and Keith Patterson (Karin) of Sumrall; brothers, Varnie Ray Broom (Elaine) of Grand Bay, AL, and Terry Wayne Broom (Katie) of Moss Point, MS; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services, officiated by Brother Valton Douglas, will be conducted at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary with burial at Rocky Branch Cemetery assisted by Kade Patterson, Lee Patterson, Kaden Patterson, Jerry Broom, Darrel Magee and Jeff Williamson serving as pallbearers.
