Myrtle Dale was a woman of faith and a member of Improve Baptist Church where she loved not only worshiping her Savior but also fellowshipping with her church family and playing dominoes with church friends from the community.
Myrtle Dale had a big and generous heart and loved to cook. Whether it was with a helping hand or delivering a casserole or baked goodies, she found joy in helping others and had profound love for her family and cherished each one of them, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gary Lowery; her father, O'Liverson Moore; her mother, Ida Mae Merritt Moore; and all of siblings.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Lowery, and Teresa Coltharp (Bob), both of Hattiesburg, MS; her son, James Cary Lowery (Tanis) of Kiln, MS; a granddaughter, Carah Lowery; and a grandson, Cage Lowery.
A graveside service, officiated by Reverend Darel Daniels, will be held on January 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Improve Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia, MS.
We would like to extend sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the Forrest General Hospice staff including, Mitzi, her RN; Renee and Sally, her CRNs; Page Patti, her Social Worker; Lauren Hurst, her NP; and Chaplain, Brother Josh, for the extraordinary care given to our beloved mother and grandmother.
