Patrick Kyle Hutchins, of Columbia, MS, went to his heavenly home on February 14, 2026, at the age of 54, surrounded by his loving family at Marion General Hospital. Kyle fought the good fight with unwavering faith and finished the race of life set before him here on earth.
Kyle was born on January 17, 1972. He was affectionately known by many as simply “Kyle,” a name that came to represent kindness, laughter, and a heart full of love. His life was marked by a deep faith in God, and he lived each day striving to reflect that faith to others. John 3:16 was Kyle’s favorite Bible verse and a guiding truth in his life.
Some of Kyle’s fondest memories were made while traveling with his family. He often reminisced about trips to the Great Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, TN; the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN; and Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.
Kyle was his cousins’ biggest fan and lovingly referred to them as “the grands.” Though he was not always able to attend their athletic events, he followed them closely by watching videos, pictures, and listening to their stories.
Kyle was a proud member of the Columbia High School Class of 1992.
Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank M. Lee, Sr., Margaret C. Lee, and Margaret Hutchins, and father, Roger Hutchins.
He will be remembered for the love that he shared with his aunts and uncles: Sara and Vernon Watts; Mary and Johnny Edwards; Sammie and Eugene Champagne, all of Columbia; and Frank Jr. and Carolyn Lee of Laurel, MS; and by his cousins: Brooke Watts and Zac; Brandi Stogner and Cruz; Jodi, Scott, Jake, Peyton, and Paislee Raynes; Clint, Amber, Annabelle, and Brody Champagne, all of Columbia; Jaclyn, Jason, Jaran, Jaeda, and Josye Goar of Sumrall, MS; Eric Champagne of Kemah, TX; Jake Champagne of Atlanta, GA; Shawn Lee of Laurel; Sheri and Ryan Williford of Ovett, MS; Connie and Randy Richardson of Gulfport, MS; Claire and Julia Richardson of Birmingham, AL; Carol and Kent McPhail of Mobile, AL; Meredith and Sean Fourney of Charleston, SC; Cameron McPhail of Birmingham; Parker McPhail of Los Angeles, CA; Chad, Melissa, and Cole Watts of Fort Worth, TX; as well as extended family members and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Colonial Funeral Home.
A graveside Celebration of Life service, officiated by Reverend Dr. Pat Sanford, will follow at 11:30 am at Woodlawn Cemetery assisted by Ayden Buckley, Clint Champagne, Jaran Goar, Jason Goar, Zac McCain, Jake Raynes, Scott Raynes, and Cruz Stogner serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Brody Champagne, Eric Champagne, Jake Champagne, Kris Hutchins, Shawn Lee, Rob McLean, and Chad Watts.
Special music will be sung by Lucas Stringer, and Peyton Raynes will lead the family in a special song.
The closing prayer will be led by Mr. Bruce Ratcliff.
