Rachel Mae Cartier, of Foxworth, Mississippi, passed from this life into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the age of 56. She was born in Pontotoc, Mississippi to Ollie and Mae McCain. She loved all types of music, enjoyed shopping and taking long walks. Rachel was devoted to her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, a wonderful mom who was a disciplinarian that wanted everything in order, and for her sweet nurturing spirit. She served her community and her Lord through her membership with Morgantown Church of God where she was very active helping with children in the nursery, Sunday School, and Bible School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Linda Broom and Eva Bell Hedgepeth; and a brother, Clyde McCain. Rachel is survived by her husband of 37 years, Ed Cartier; seven daughters, Christine Cartier, Wendy Cartier, Shannon Jenison (John Paul), Vickie Gaines (Kevin), Stacey Stogner (Danny), Sadie Cartier, and Aubree Grace Cartier; six sons, Edward J. Cartier, Jr., Johnny Cartier (Lacey), Michael Cartier, Eddie Cartier (Sarah), Daniel Cartier (Shayla), and Joshua Cartier (Victoria); five sisters, Sybil Stogner (Bill), Hollie Bedwell (Ronnie), Vondail McKenzie (Milton), Rose Duncan, and Sandra Kay Menard; 36 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation for Rachel at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Cory Odom, will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:00pm. Burial will be in the Turnage Chapel Cemetery.
