Ruthie Ann Bass Tagert, of Vancleave, Mississippi, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the age of 75. She was born in Marion County and has been a resident of Vancleave for the past 57 years. Ruthie Ann was fun loving and had a bubbly personality. She loved antiquing and finding treasures at yard sales and garage sales. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking and organizing family gatherings. Ruthie Ann cherished her family and devoted her life to them. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.M. and Ethel Lucille Bass; and a great-grandson, Alex Tagert. Ruthie Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Kerry Tagert; a son Vince Tagert (Stephanie); three grandchildren, Michael Tagert (Jenn), Matthew Tagert (Dominoe), and Mitchell Tagert (Demi); one great-grandchild, Adaleigh Tagert; and two sisters-in-law, Patty Ponthieux (Clyde) and Johnnie Skeen.
There will be a visitation for Ruthie Ann at Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Brother Johnny Williams, will follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Michael Tagert, Matthew Tagert, Mitchell Tagert, Grady Carter, John Bruebaker, and Blake Barker serving as pallbearers.
