LEXINGTON - Anna Elizabeth Burns was enjoying one of the happiest weeks of her young, productive life when tragically killed in an automobile accident in the early morning of Saturday, April 14, 2012. Thankfully, this week now pales in comparison to the weeks she is now spending with Jesus! She accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior at an early age and wishes the same for you all, old or young.
Born the beloved daughter of Traci and Weyland Burns on March 11, 1989, Anna was a treasure to her brothers, Trey and David, close and extended family, and a host of friends. She had accepted her first, full-time job the day before the accident after working part-time and summers while attending school. Although graduating from USC-Aiken with a Major in Communications in December, 2011, true to family tradition, Anna remained a loyal Clemson fan.
In addition to her mother, father, and brothers, Anna is survived by her maternal grandmother, Linda Martin Wise of Swansea; paternal grandparents, Julius Weyland (Peggy) Burns of Orangeburg and Judy (Mike) Polin of Santee; aunt, Christi (Nick) Bonham of Lexington, and uncles, Jeff Burns of Ludowici, GA, Weldon (Michele) Burns of Orangeburg, Marty (Susan) Wise and Curtis Wise of Swansea; numerous cousins and special friends. She was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Newman Otis Wise of Swansea, maternal great-grandparents, Athalia “G.Ma.” Hutto (Fred) Laman and paternal great-grandparents, Julius and Annie Mae “BeBe” Wadford of Orangeburg.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012, Riverbend Community Church, 1015 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072 with a visitation following the service. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to www.newspring.cc/gauntlet/sponsors
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
