Barry Stauffer Ehret

Barry Stauffer Ehret, age 80, of Blythewood, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Roper Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Born September 8, 1945, in Whitehall, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Luther and Pauline R. Ehret of Whitehall, Pennsylvania.

Barry moved to South Carolina in 1987 with his family, where he worked as a Region Supervisor at Mac Trucks in Winnsboro, SC until he retired in 1997. Barry loved fishing and spending time at the beach. He spent many years following his son Brian’s racing career and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Barry is survived by his son, Brian of Charleston South Carolina and his brother and sister-in-law, Woody and Besty Ehret of Parkersburg, West Virginia. He is also survived by granddaughters, Taylor Michelle of Greenville, South Carolina and Blakely Ann of Savannah, Georgia; nieces, Michelle Angalet (Mike), Tina Scoular and nephew, John Ehret (Mara). Barry was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Sandra “Sandy” Ann Ehret.

A celebration of Barry’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, 4219 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia South Carolina 29223 with a private reception for family following.
