Carl W Shelton Sr.

Columbia: A funeral service for Carl W. “Pete” Shelton, Sr., 73, husband of Mary Lee Shelton, of Columbia will be held at 3:30 on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Killian Baptist Church, 577 Killian Rd., Columbia, SC. Pallbearers will include Tim Mattox, Clayton and Coleman Trapp, Timmy Lee, John Fogle, Wilbur Wise, Danny Lee and Coleman Trapp, Jr. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC.

Mr. Shelton died April 22, 2011. Born November 24, 1937 in Columbia he was a son of the late John Henry Shelton and Emma Pearl Wallace Shelton. He worked for many years as a roofing contractor and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his son, Carl Shelton, Jr. and Lynn Asmar of Columbia; son, Jack Shelton and wife, Sharon of Columbia; daughter, Wendy Bass of Columbia; grandchildren, Michael, Jason, and Heather Shelton, Kayla Asmar, Tyler Bass, Joey and Ashley Shelton, Timmy Dial; as well as 3 great grandchildren.
