

A funeral service celebrating the life of Carlos Howard Jerden Jr., 85, of Spartanburg, SC, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010, in the Greenlawn Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Joe Watson officiating. Military honors and entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305 in Carlos' memory. On-line condolences may be sent to www.mem.com. Mr. Jerden entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 15, 2010, in Spartanburg, SC. He was born in Chattanooga, TN, to the late Carlos Howard Jerden Sr. and Mae Larmer Jerden. Mr. Jerden was a WWII veteran of the United States Army in which he was a Purple Heart Recipient. Mr. Jerden retired from USF&G Insurance Company after 35 years of dedicated service. He was also a member of the CPCU and the Premium Audit Association. Mr. Jerden was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Mary Bruff Jerden; a daughter, Judy Jerden Yost and her husband, Dr. Stephen A. Yost; two sons, David L. Jerden and Carlos Howard Jerden III; four grandchildren, NatalieYost Dixon (Joey), Rachel Michelle Yost, Andrew Dashield Jerden and Kyndall Elizabeth Jerden.
