She was a shining light to all who crossed her path. If there was ever an embodiment of pure love energy, it was Miss Clara. She was that “cool mom” everyone wished they had.
A radiant soul and a once-in-a-lifetime friend, Clara was the personification of kindness and joy. Her home was a sanctuary of love for all. Please remember her in the temple of your heart. A memorial tribute will be held at a later date.
Surviving are her sons, Mark S. McGill of Columbia, David N. McGill of Lexington and John V. McGill of Hopkins; five grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Fred Nolen, Jr. of Chapin and James C. Nolen of Charleston. She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll E. McGill and daughter, Jean Hall.
Memorials may be made to the Oliver Gospel Mission, PO Box 7791, Columbia, SC 29202 or the SPCA, 121 Humane Lane, Columbia, SC 29209.
