

David Lawrence Kirvan, age 86, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025. A graveside service for David will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors.
Born in Tipp City, Ohio, he was the son of the late David Peter Kirvan and Elsie Mae McGinnis Kirvan. He served his country honorably in the United States Army for 26 years and retired as an SFC. Following his duties to his country, he worked for over 18 years at the Midlands Center Department of Disabilities and Special Needs as an Officer of the Day.
During his free time, David enjoyed many fishing trips and working in his yard making it look pristine. He often played pool with his friends and often won. Many of his enjoyments were spent with his loving wife, Nancy taking trips to the beaches along the Carolina Coast and numerous trips to Orlando and Pigeon Forge.
Mr. Kirvan is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Kirvan of 66 years; son, David Kirvan; brother, Donald Kirvan; grandsons Clifton Kirvan, Jeremy Kirvan, and granddaughter Dr. Jacqueline Harris; great-grandchildren, Katlin, Colton, Sophia and Connor; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
David was predeceased by his daughter, Chris Kirvan Gaskins; brother Richard and sisters Elsie, Shirley and Darlene.
The family would like to share their appreciation to the staff of Prisma Richland and his hospice nurses and caregivers for their loving support and kindness to Mr. David.
