David Vance McDonald

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 21, 2023 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel.

David was born August 18, 1950 in Tulsa, OK to Donald and Annie McCorkle McDonald. He attended East Carolina University and was employed as a Main Frame Programmer for PMSC in Blythewood for 24 years and retired in 2020 from Blue Cross Blue Shield after 14 years of service.

He was an avid golfer that perfected "Gloaming" the art of searching for golf balls. David loved watching classic movies especially "The Thin Man" series, NCIS and JAG. He had an affinity for listening to the classics like Buddy Holly and Jim Croce. Most importantly, he will be remembered for his generosity and dedicated to his family, neighbors and friends who became family.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sister, Charlotte McDonald and his wife Belinda McDonald. Survivors include his son, Steven Gawczynski (Nicole); five grandchildren, Alyssa, Bryson, Ethan, Manny, Makenna; and his extended North Carolina family members.
