

LEXINGTON - Durham Alexander DeLaura, age 35, died Friday, August 25, 2017 on Lake Murray in Lexington, SC. A Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Durham Alexander DeLaura will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal), 1512 Blanding Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29201. Following the Mass, visitation with the family will be held in the Parish Hall. At the time of his death, Durham was employed as an Emergency Services Specialist with Fluor Corporation at the VC Summer Nuclear Plant. Prior to that, Durham spent nearly ten years in the fire service, where he earned numerous awards for bravery and merit. Durham died doing what he loved most, spending time on the lake with his family. Durham is the son of Sharon Bryant of Iva, SC and the late John DeLaura of Santa Fe, NM. He is survived by his fiancé; Tory; three young daughters of Lexington SC; brother David (Paula) Reed of the Columbia Fire Department and Harley Koziak of CT; uncle Dick (Judy) Bryant and cousins Lisa and Rick of CT; niece and nephew Sarah and David Reed of Charleston SC; and hundreds of brothers and sisters in the Columbia and Irmo Fire Departments.
