Our deepest condolences to the Puffenbarger family. As an AFROTC graduate from USC in 1978, Colonel Puffenbarger was an incredible leader and commander and we all looked up to him. He had more influence on my Air Force career than anyone. I proudly retired from the USAFR in 2000. When I would come home to Columbia over the years, it was always pleasant to see or hear about the Puffenbarger family. My thoughts are with you all today at the services and I will render a proud salute in honor of a great man!

So sorry to hear about Colonel Puffenbarger's passing.  He was a fine officer, husband, father and grandfather, and loved by so many.  I was good friends with Mike, his son, in college.   He and his now wife, Lee Ann introduced me to my wife of over 28 years.  The Puffenbarger's will always hold a special place in my heart.  Praying for the Puffenbarger family.
