

WEST COLUMBIA- Ora Evelyn Louise Bradfield Long, 98, born October 20, 1916 in Macon, Georgia, the only surviving child of 11 brothers and sisters born to Fannie and Robert Edward Lee Bradfield, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Brian Center St. Andrews where she had resided for several years.
She was called Aunt Anne by friends and by the many children she kept in her home over the years. She was a kind and loving caretaker, a Girl Scout leader and a lifetime member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in Columbia, SC where she taught Bible School and Vacation Bible School.
She is survived by her loving son, Bobby McCrae Long and his wife, Shelby of Richmond, VA; grandson, Charles Michael Long; three great-granddaughters, Kristina Knuckley, Kaitlyn Sidito (Jasmyne), Patricia Chavis (Blake) and five great-great-grandchildren, all of South Carolina.
She is predeceased by her husband, Lester Luguy Long and grandson, William Bryan Long.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 B Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169. Visitation will be immediately following the service in the Sanctuary. Elmwood Funeral Home and Cremation is assisting the family with arrangements.
