

IRMO – Gary Rippon, 56, went to work with the master carpenter Sunday, May 12, 2013. He was born in Peoria, IL. Gary was the son of Barbara Bradle and the late James J. Rippon.
Gary was a member of
Oakwood Baptist Church. He was employed by Thermal Engineering Corporation for almost 20 years. Gary was an Assistant Scout Master with Troop 91 for many years.
Gary leaves behind his wife of 23 years Cynthia Lynn Friedner Rippon; sons, Steven Rippon (and friend Anna Baker) and Glenn Rippon (and friend Madison Leonardi) of Irmo; stepdaughter, Jamie Frields of Hendersville; brothers, James, Robert and Kevin Rippon of IL; sister, Jamie Clark of WI; sister-in-laws, Amy Stansell (Johnny) of Lexington, and Christa Elledge (Rod) of Louisville, KY; three super nephews, Cory, Nathan and Kyle Stansell; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Gary will be Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Oakwood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to service at the church with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, 810 Maxwell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646 and Oakwood Baptist Church Missions-Lebanon, 3520 Mineral Springs Rd., Lexington, SC 29073. A special thanks to Dr. Mushtag and Linda Beyer.
