Born, raised, and educated in Manila, Philippines, Imelda made the courageous move on her own at a young age, to establish her new life in Los Angeles, CA, many years ago. It was that fateful decision that shaped the rest of her life and of those who were lucky to know and love her. Full of hope, Imelda was strong-willed and persevered to navigate her new life in an unfamiliar country and soon established herself as a respected professional, holding positions in various organizations within the world of Finance and Accounting. Imelda also met and married her husband, David…and in the blink of an eye, began raising two young children, Vickey and Jason, as her own.
Imelda worked hard in life to ensure that her family and children were always supported and loved, despite life’s uncertainties and challenges. A devoutly religious person, Imelda was steadfast in her faith and commitment. She was truly the pillar of what it means to be a strong, successful woman, and she was the backbone of her family. She was also talented in every sense of the word. Imelda was not only a hardworking and dedicated career woman, who loved and provided for her family and children, she was also special with a few unique characteristics, just to name a few:
• An infectious and loud laugh. She particularly enjoyed late night television, comedy, and musical or dance competitions (American Idol and Dancing with the Stars)
• Love of ice cream (coffee-flavored) to accompany her late-night television watching
• Being a masterful chef and culinary artist who was always feeding friends, family and loved ones. She was known especially for her popular, brandy-infused “Fruitcakes” to celebrate every Christmas holiday
• Impeccable style and fashion sense. Imelda always looked like “a million bucks” and never left the house without being fashionable and in full make-up and jewelry
• Love of violin and classical music. Frank Sinatra and Andrea Bocelli were a couple of her favorites
• Affinity for “retail therapy” and frequent trips to her local Macy’s, where she would primarily shop for thoughtful gifts, clothing, and household items for her friends, family and especially young nieces and nephews
Most poignantly and most importantly, Imelda was kind, loving, thoughtful, loyal, and generous to everyone lucky enough to be in her life. Although also a very private person, she held very close those she loved and trusted. She was constantly proud of her family’s and children’s accomplishments and achievements. Her family and especially her children will forever be indebted to her for all that she sacrificed and endured for their wellbeing and success. Imelda left behind a lasting legacy of love and memories that will forever be cherished by everyone who knew and loved her.
