James Hans Sharp

IRMO – Graveside services for James Hans Sharp, 74, will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 11:00 am, at Bush River Memorial Gardens. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Ln., Columbia, SC 29210.

Mr. Sharp died on Saturday, May 26, 2012. Born in Augusta, GA, on October 29, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles Earl and Mabel Nissen Sharp. Mr. Sharp was a member of St. Phillip Lutheran Church in Myrtle Beach. He played in the 1955 Shrine Bowl All Star Football Game and served 13 years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Mr. Sharp was employed in the Finance Department of The Associates and N.C. National Bank (Bank of America).

Mr. Sharp is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Glover Sharp; daughter, Laura J. Sharpe; son and daughter-in-law, James H. Sharp, Jr. and Jessica Sharp; 2 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; a brother; a sister; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his son, Brian Mitchell Sharp and his parents.
