

Jim was born in Corning, New York on September 14, 1973, the son of Brenda Herbert Davis and his predeceased father, Normand Eugene Taft and predeceased step-father, Joseph Davis.
Jim was a selfless person who loved his family dearly. He opened his heart and home to everyone unconditionally. Everyone was welcome and never treated as a stranger.
Jim proudly joined the United States Army in 1993 as an Army Combat Medic and also continued to serve in the New York National Guard in 1995.
He was a Project Manager for an Architectural Design Firm as he made Columbia, SC home.
Jim is survived by his three sons, Justin, Joshua and Jakob; his mother, Brenda Davis; brothers, Norman Taft, Cathy Davis, Jack Davis and John Davis; his favorite aunt, Diane; cousin, Mary; numerous nieces and nephews and his “brothers" and family in London, Ontario, Canada.
Jim will be remembered as always saying “Remember to do something nice for someone today.” Words we will cherish and live by. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service for James will be held Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Mausoleum Chapel, 501 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29201. Following the funeral service will be an interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, SC 29201. The family will receive friends following the interment at the residence.
