John is survived by his wife of 16 years, Cynthia. He leaves his daughter, Samantha of MA; two brothers, Christopher (Denise) of NY and Andrew of SC and sister, Patricia of NY. He also leaves Cynthia’s children, Faith and Shawn Stuart; grandchildren, Victoria and Michael, Gabriel Norris and William Norris.
John was very proud of his daughter, Samantha. He was able to see her graduate with her Master’s. He watched her grow into a beautiful, independent young woman.
John graduated from Minerva Central School in NY. He enjoyed playing soccer and baseball, and also skiing in the Adirondacks.
John was also in the Navy for four years. He worked for Varian Semiconductor/Applied Materials for 33 years until retirement in 2016 (Gloucester, MA).
John and wife, Cyndi, enjoyed the times they spent cruising on his Harley Road Glide, gardening and, in Columbia, SC, they both loved caring for feral cats; having them neutered and placing them for adoption.
John was a lifelong learner. He enjoyed reading about WWI and WWII, also detective books. In retirement, he joined a rifle club and became an excellent marksman.
A memorial service will be held on September 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 17 Church Lane, Sanbornton, NH 03269. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Animal Mission of the Midlands, Columbia, SC.
