Jonathan “Jon” Christopher Pagella, cherished son for 50 years, passed away at home unexpectedly on July 18, 2025. He was a beloved husband of 16 years, father to his precious son whom he loved so very much, and caring pet dad to his dogs, Daisy and Ellie, as well as his rescued bunny, Harriett.
Born in West Springfield, Massachusetts in 1974, he moved to Florida in 1990 and later to South Carolina in 2008. Jon owned and operated his Pepperidge Farm bread distributorship in South Carolina for over 16 years. He was extremely passionate about his business and deeply invested in the company’s growth and success.
Over many years, he consistently proved himself to be hardworking, committed, professional, and reliable. Throughout this time, he built and maintained numerous valued relationships with management, store employees, and the many other vendors with whom he became familiar. He continually strove to promote and exemplify a working atmosphere of respect, as well as foster an environment of cooperation among everyone he encountered.
He truly was a “people person” and wouldn’t hesitate to strike up a conversation with anyone. He genuinely cared for those he called friends and his absence will be felt by many who called him friend as well.
As a self-proclaimed “Chevy man,” a big interest of his included vehicles, particularly trucks. As a “Cigar aficionado,” he loved discussing and imparting his knowledge of cigars, especially whenever it came to adding to his vast collection. As a friend, he was especially skilled at keeping in touch and always took time to check in with anyone he hadn’t heard from in a while.
Surviving are his wife, Tammy Pagella; son, Brady Pagella; parents, Carl and Kate Pagella; and a multitude of extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Horace and Betty Pagella, and maternal grandparents, Donald and Marilyn Albee.
A celebration of Jon’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, from 3:00-5:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to join us in sharing their fond memories and favorite stories of Jon. Casual attire is welcome, and we encourage you to wear something that reminds you of him. (ie.
