Joy was my close friend and mentor in Kailua. We lost touch over the years. I found her number in an old phone book and was trying to locate her. I was heartbroken to come across this obit. Dear Brian and family,
I just found out about Joy's passing.  I worked with her for many years at Providence Hospital where she was charge nurse on 4th east and 1st east.  We had so many good times and laughed so hard.  She loved her charms on her necklas. She loved to tell us about Hawaii. She was wonderful to all of us.  I am thankful I had her in my life for a while.  She was a beautiful lady and friend.

Rachel.... My heart hurts so much for you.  I think about you every day. I pray for sweet memories remembered and for healing.  hug to you and your family.

My prayers and condolences with the Freeman family and all those who knew Joy personally.  I will always remember the good times, we had while I worked as a Unit Secretary and Interpreter at Lexington Medical Center, Joy always made me smile.  I am very sadden and numb for words, just months back I remember her asking me about the Zumba class and weight loss.  We must keep her close to our hearts and pray and know that she is always  with us in spirit and keep the good memories. Lord, thank you for giving me the opportunity to know such a wonderful person, until we see each other again in heaven. Lord, help us.  Amen!

I was a friend a co-worker of Joy's at Urgent Care.  She was immediately my mentor and my friend.  She and I had a common bond in our love for our daughters and grandchildren.  She certainly was proud of them!  I will  miss her greatly.  You will all remain in my prayers!

When I met Joy she was just 36 years old and every year she seemed to get younger and prettier with each passing year. I don't believe I have ever met a happier or loving person.She always made me feel welcome and made sure I was included in most family get togethers.She loved my son as much as if he were her own and she made sure everyone knew that. How horrible to hear this news, I worked with Joy at Lexington ER for many years, she was a wonderful person, a great nurse, and someone that I truely admired. My deepest sympathies to Joy's Family.

My sincere condolences to the Freeman family. It was a pleasure to work with Joy at the Lexington Medical Ctr/Irmo Urgent Care. She was always smiling & you could tell just how much she loved being a nurse & taking care of patients. She will certainly be missed.
