
Karin Hannelore Jackson, 82, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. She was born in Erlangen, Germany on January 28, 1942, to Margarete Barbara Kerner and Karl Ludwig Kerner.
She moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 1965 with her husband, Dallas, who was transferred to Fort Jackson by the US Army. She worked at JB White for many years until they closed their doors, then pursued a career in childcare. Karin loved children and taking care of them. She worked at Woodfield Girl and Boy land until she retired.
She is survived by her husband, Dallas Jackson; son, Donald W. Jackson; daughter, Angela J. Weathersby; son-in-law, Timothy “Ray” Weathersby; granddaughters, Tiffany M. Weathersby, Jessica W. McNutt, and Hayley R. Jackson; four great-grandchildren; many siblings and other family members residing in Germany and various locations across the United States.
She was predeceased by her parents and her niece, Natasha Stark.
A memorial service will be held at Fort Jackson Kings Mountain Chapel on June 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. A pass will be required to gain access to the Post. Anyone wishing to attend, please email Angela Weathersby at [email protected] to have a pass issued.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the Medical staff at MUSC Forest Drive, and Stephanie with Hospice for the extra special care provided for Karin in her final days.
