Linda S. Baldwin, 81, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024. She was born on September 2, 1942, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to Gwendolyn Gibson and Harold J. Schreiner. She was predeceased by her husband, Blair L. Baldwin, Sr.; son, Blair “Frazier” Baldwin of Lancaster; and sister, Judy Lee of Orangeburg.
Linda was a longtime teacher and administrator, mainly in Lexington-Richland School District 5, and loved to garden. She and her husband were founding members of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Linda shared teaching duties and attended Sunday School with a wonderful group of Christians who supported her to the end of her days.
She is survived by her daughter, Valeria Blair Bassham (Forest) of Blair; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Baldwin of Lancaster; and son, Blair L. Baldwin, Jr. (Erin) of Columbia. Her grandchildren brought her great joy and many wonderful travels: Sarah Cochran (Sean), Jessie Hoffman (Jared), Frazier Baldwin, Riley Baldwin, Logan Baldwin, Silas Baldwin, Vess Baldwin, and Elizabeth Baldwin. She was also blessed with a great-grandson, Miles Cochran.
A visitation will be held for Linda at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 6952 St Andrews Rd, Columbia, SC 29212, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM. A private inurnment will be held at Salem Presbyterian Church in Blair, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
