Mrs. Marian Holstein Stewart

A memorial service for Marian Holstein Stewart, 84, will be held Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 845 Leesburg Rd, Columbia S.C., with visitation following the service.

Mrs. Stewart was the daughter of the late Albert Harding Holstein and Wilma Agnes Pressley Holstein. Born in Monetta, S.C., she was a devoted wife, mother, grand and great grandmother. She tirelessly gave to her family and created a home they will cherish forever. She retired after 18 years of service with the The State Newspaper and with her husband Cal, was blessed with many years to enjoy time with her grandchildren and travel the world.

Surviving is her husband, Calvin L. Stewart of Columbia; daughters, Judy Pitts (Bill), Kay Lowder (Bob), Beth Gladden (Jim), Linda Stewart, all of Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Mildred H. Stebbing of Columbia, S.C., Sandra L. Essick (Bob) of Gilbert, S.C.; grandchildren, Amanda Bennett (Lee), Bill Pitts III, Nick Gladden and Stewart Lowder; great grandchild, Robert Bennett. She was predeceased by her loving siblings; sister, Virginia H. Kendall; brothers, John F. Holston and Vernon C. Holston.
